St. Augustine Beach and Tropical Storm Fay

We had been looking forward to our beach vacation all summer!! We loaded up the twins and headed down to St. Augustine Beach. We had a beautiful 3 days...and then Tropical Storm Fay decided to come through. It was a little disappointing to have to cut our vacation short, but we did have a great time while we were there! We ate lots of wonderful seafood, got to spend time (not near enough) with Jon, Patrice and the boys, and had a lot of fun on the beach with Abby and Caroline. This year, Maga and Grandaddy were staying all week next door to us. Uncle Eric and Melissa came the first part of the week and Aunt Courtney and Uncle Matt were supposed to come the second half of the week. Fay changed our best laid plans! We were very sad that Courtney and Matt weren't able to come...the weather got pretty bad on Wednesday and we all decided to head home early Thursday morning. Nana and Papa stayed with us until Wednesday and it was great to have both sets of grandparents on the beach with us all day! The girls were awesome on the beach. They loved jumping waves and had no fear! They rode on the boogie boards and made some awesome sandcastles! When we got back to Asheville, we tried to make the best of it and spent some time as a family in the mountains. We definitely didn't get our fill of the beach this year...maybe next year we'll get to go twice!!

Flower Girls!

Aunt Courtney and Uncle Matthew got married June 28th and Caroline and Abby were the best flower girls! They walked down the aisle with Mommy and were so beautiful! They wore pretty white dresses with buttons and a big bow in back. They had a red rose in their hair and they carried baskets with flower petals in them. Caroline and Abby had a wonderful time at the reception. The food was delicious and they loved to dance! They were tired little flower girls by the end of the night! Every time they see a picture of a girl in a wedding dress they say, "She has a wedding dress like Aunt Courtney!" The pictures turned out great and I've put some in our Photo Gallery II.

A fun visit!

Caroline and Abby just waved "bye-bye" to Nana, Aunt Judy, Mary Kate and Ella. We had such a fun time with them! We ate yummy food together...Barley's pizza, 12 Bones barbecue, Nana & Aunt Judy's fried chicken, mashed potatoes & green beans! We took the girls to play at the playground and they had a blast climbing and swinging together. We played in the sprinklers and little pools in the front yard. Mary Kate and Ella were so good to Caroline and Abby. They entertained them for 2 days straight! The four girls laughed, talked and played non-stop! It was so fun to have them here and we look forward to their next visit! Caroline & Abby are going to miss Nana, Aunt Judy and their sweet cousins!
