Happy Leap Year Day!

I have not taken many pictures this month...we've been busy picking paint colors, countertops, doors, tile and hardwood floors for the house. The sheetrock crew is finishing up and if the weather will cooperate the painters and mason should be finishing the exterior of the house this week. It is very exciting to see it all coming together. Michael will continue to be quite the busy man over the next few weeks as he puts many of the finishing touches on our house!

Caroline and Abby are talking all the time! They repeat everything and it is amazing to see all that they notice. We look out for American flags while driving around town and Caroline said, "Nother Merican Flag Mommy!" She was so excited to find one on her own! They know exactly where we are most of the time and can tell me when we approach the grocery store, our new house, the tunnel, Barley's (our pizza place!) and where the ducks swim. At one particular stop light in town, we always talk about Daddy's black truck, Grandaddy's red truck and Uncle E's red truck, no car, no truck! It is hilarious to me that they remember and repeat whole conversations! One night after we put them to bed and we thought they were fast asleep listening to their music, we heard singing over the monitor. "Holy, Holy, Holy, God!" They were singing the last song on their CD. We just laughed. It is very sweet to hear your two year old daughters singing "Holy God" over the monitor in those beautifully sweet little voices! When one of them sneezes, the other says "Bless you Abby", or "Bless you Nee Nee". So cute. It has been a fun month with these two precious girls! We are ready for some warmer weather and looking forward to Spring! Here are some pictures of Caroline, Payton and Abby playing on the back deck. We had a wonderful weekend with the Gadd's in the middle of February. Caroline and Abby talk about their friends Payton and baby Claire all the time!

Caroline and Abby

Caroline and Abby have been having fun as usual. We have been visiting Daddy a lot as he works on our new house. It is coming along and we are getting really excited about finishing it! The girls continue to amaze us with new words, putting words together, and their awesome memories! We talk about one thing, and they remember all the details and tell us all about it! Michael and I have laughed...since Christmas it seems that they have double the energy and they are constantly talking!! Abby is our "life narrator". She gives us a play by play of everything that is going on. Last night it was, "Daddy, NeeNee (her word for Caroline), cuddle." It is so fun to watch their minds work and hear all that they have to say. They've gotten much better at talking on the phone and have loved talking to Gramma, Grandaddy, Nana and Papa. Telling them what they are doing, saying "Go Dawgs" to Grandaddy, and of course the "I love you"s that are sooo sweet!

It is hard to believe that we brought them home from the hospital 2 years ago today. In some ways it feels like forever ago, and in other ways it feels like yesterday. They certainly have come a long way and we are so thankful. Our friend Rhonda came up the other day and took some great pictures of the girls...I'll put a few here and then I'll add some more pictures to January & February's Photo Gallery II.
