Happy Halloween!!

Caroline and Abby were flowers this year! Ma Ga (what they call Gramma) and I designed the costume and my sweet friend and neighbor Jan sewed it together. They looked adorable! Caroline wasn't too thrilled about donning her costume, but once she had a Kit Kat at Miss Jan's she was very happy to be a pretty pink flower! Abby was a pretty purple flower! We went to visit Jan, Happy and Harlow and then across the street to another neighbors house. The girls got awesome goodie bags at our neighbor's houses! We then loaded up and went to pick up Daddy at his office to continue our Halloween fun. Our friends, the Knauer's, have an annual Halloween party at their home in Weaverville. We trick or treated with them and then had chili at their house. There were a ton of people at the party and we had a lot of fun! Caroline and Abby ate chocolate candy, chips, fritos, cheese and a few cucumber slices for dinner. Very nutritious! Check out the Photo Gallery II for Halloween pictures and other October fun pictures!

The basement is framed!

We watched the framers nail the first floor down on Saturday and then had a picnic in our "dining room" on Sunday. It looks awesome. They are working on the first floor walls now and should have them up by the end of the week. We are so high in the trees. It's gonna be so pretty to sit on our back porch! We are very excited! Caroline and Abby are saying more and more words! It is so cute to hear them say "pease" when they want something. Of course, they always get more if they say "pease"! Here are some pictures of our framed up basement and floor.

The Foundation is Complete!

Finally, we are out of the "concrete phase" and the framing has begun on our new house. Michael signed our names in the basement! Caroline & Abby had a blast running all over the concrete that was poured earlier that day. We are very excited to be at this point...now it really gets fun! The framers began Wednesday and they move so fast. It's incredible. We should have a first floor to stand on by this weekend!

Sky Top Apple Orchard

We took Caroline and Abby to the apple orchard this morning. It was so much fun! The orchard is on top of a mountain and it is gorgeous! They had pumpkins and apples. There were lots of things for the girls to play on. They especially enjoyed playing peekaboo in a "pumpkin" house. They actually enjoyed the swings on the playground. They were "big girl" swings so Michael and I had to stay really close. We saw ducks, goats, chickens, sheep and bunnies. We bought some apples and enjoyed a yummy apple cider slushie! The girls were adorable drinking out of two straws!

Tag I'm it!

A few weeks ago, I was "tagged" by my good friend Martha and I am just now getting around to posting about it! Martha and I met at Clemson and then she married Chris who I have known since Kindergarten I think. We are now forever bonded by having preemie twins 6 months apart! So, I'm supposed to write 8 interesting things about me....well, how about just 8 things!

1. I married my high school sweetheart 5 years ago. We waited until we were both almost finished with graduate school to get married. Our first date was 10 years before our wedding day!

2. We have 22 month old twin daughters who are absolutely wonderful! We are very blessed! They spent 8 weeks in the NICU after they were born, but you would never know it today. They are sweet, fun and beautiful...and yes, I'm very biased!

3. We couldn't have survived the birth of our twins without our wonderful friends and family. We had so many people praying for our girls and for us during a very difficult time. My sister was amazing and basically lived with us for 2 months after they came home. We held them all day long and hardly ever got out of our pajamas! She helped me learn how to be a mommy and she had just finished college! It was great to have her to help me figure things out and to keep me sane! She sacrificed sleep for those two sweet little babies...I don't know many new college grads who would do that!

4. I'm a pediatric physical therapist. I stay home with the girls right now and am so thankful I'm able to! I love being a stay at home mom. I also love being a PT. My favorite place to work as a PT is Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. I love my collegues there and the kids are awesome! I miss not being close to that hospital.

5. I live in a beautiful city. Asheville is a place that when you are driving to the grocery store, the view can take your breath away. It is a beautiful place to live!

6. Fall is my favorite season. I love the beauty of the changing leaves, the cool crisp air, sunny days and blue skies. I also love Clemson football!

7. I miss traveling. Michael and I took several awesome trips before having kiddos. We went to Yellowstone on our honeymoon, a 6 week roadtrip out west, and to Maui for a week. We love to go places and marvel at what God has created for us to enjoy!

8. I truly enjoy spending time with my family. Michael is my best friend and we love just being with our girls. We also love being with our extended family. It is hard to live 3 hours away and we strive to have "quality" time with them often!
