The girls on their first hike!

We are constantly amazed at how easy going Caroline and Abby are. They go with us wherever we take them and are, for the most part, very happy about being wherever we are! When we strap them into their carseats, they really have no idea where we are going.....it could be the beach, the pool, on a picnic, to a friend's house, the grocery store, the mall, the playground, the mountains! I wonder if they think about all of this in their little heads. It is wonderful to have toddlers that are just happy to be going....with their Mommy and their Daddy. I hope they always think we are so cool. We took the girls on their first hike last Saturday. We had no idea if we would make it to the top of Craggy Gardens when we started, but we did! I'm sure many of the hikers that passed us thought we were pretty crazy taking these tiny little walkers up the mountain. The girls were awesome! They loved walking up the mountain. We would carry them on our shoulders for a while and then let them walk for a little while. They were great at holding our hands and negotiating the rocks, roots and steep terrain. We missed the gorgeous blooms by about a week we think....we'll have to do it again next year! I've added some more June pictures to our Photo Gallery II.

St. Augustine Beach

We just got back from a wonderful week at St. Augustine Beach! The girls had a wonderful time and we really enjoyed our vacation! We went with Gramma and Grandaddy and Courtney and Matt came down for a few days. It was wonderful to be with them all! This was Caroline and Abby's first trip to the beach and their first visit to St. Augustine. They got to spend a lot of time with their Uncle Jon, Aunt Patrice and cousins Daniel, Timmy and Kyle. They also were able to meet Aunt Hermi, Aunt Patti, cousins Jason, Sarah, Kierra, Keoni and Ava, and our friend Bobby. It was so fun for the girls to get to meet all of their Florida family and spend some great times with them! Krista, Jonathan and Payton were down at New Smyrna beach the same week. We went down and spent the day playing on the beach with them one day and they came up to St. Augustine to eat dinner with us one night. It was fun for the girls to play and we always love spending time with our best friends!

The girls were awesome at the beach! They absolutely loved the sand and the water! They had no fear and enjoyed sorting sand, getting their Mommy and Daddy very sandy, chasing seagulls, splashing in the waves, playing with their beach toys, and running all over the beach!! It was so much fun to watch them discover new things and have so much fun!

On the way down to Florida, we stopped by our friends Kristen and Ashley's in Valdosta. It was so wonderful to see them and the girls loved playing with Will. Will just got a new baby brother Eli and we will be excited to meet him! On the way back, we passed Nana and Papa on their way to St. Simons and we ate lunch with them. It was such a nice surprise to get to see them! We also stopped by our good friend Carrie's house and spent a little time with her. The girls played with Uncle Eric at Gramma and Grandaddy's house on Saturday afternoon and had a lot of fun with him. We ate dinner Saturday night with Mindy's family and the girls enjoyed playing with their cousins Cole, Mary Kate, Ella and Sophie. We started heading back to Asheville Sunday and made a quick pit stop to lake Hartwell to see the Millers....that was a great time as usual! Michael had a very fun Father's Day. We made it safely back to Asheville and he got to go waterskiing with Tom! All in all it was a wonderful week and we loved spending time with our family and friends.
