Santa fun!!

We took the girls to see Santa on their birthday. It was hilarious as you can see from the picture!! We didn't have to wait in line at all! We just walked up and put them in Santa's lap!! Caroline is on the left and Abby on the right. They didn't really get into telling him their Christmas list....it is mainly "I want my mommy and daddy back!!"
The girls had their one year check ups last week and we have so much to be thankful for! They are perfect and healthy in every way!! They both weigh 19 lbs and the doctors are so impressed with everything they are doing! We were discharged from the NICU clinic and that visit was a celebration of the year we've had! We had many tears of joy that day as we remembered all that they've gone through! Caroline and Abby enjoyed showing off all their tricks for the doctor and nurses!
We've had a busy week. Friday night, our sweet friends Kristen and Dev babysat the girls while we went to Michael's company Christmas party. It was at the Grove Park Inn and we had a lot of fun! It was very nice and his company is an exciting place to work. The girls were sweet to Kristen and Dev and had a lot of fun with them! We've been running errands and getting ready for Christmas. It is amazing how much attention we get when we shopping!! We now wave to the shoe salesman in Dillards, we know the bagger at Ingles by name, and we stop and meet so many people when we are out! The girls always have a big smile for everyone! We'll be home in Atlanta with family for a week and we are looking forward to spending time with dear family and friends! Merry Christmas!

A Very Happy Birthday!!

Yesterday, Caroline and Abby turned one year!! They had a very happy birthday! We had a big party for them last Saturday at Nana and Papa's in Lilburn. We were surrounded by family and friends and had a great time celebrating the girls' birthday! They weren't huge fans of their cake...Caroline put on a great gagging performance! Abby was a little scared of the balloons! They enjoyed opening all of their fun presents. They especially loved the boxes and wrapping paper! We met Daddy at the mall on their birthday to have lunch and visit Santa. Santa was very cute. We got a great picture of Caroline and Abby screaming while Santa held them in his lap!
It is so hard to believe that a whole year has passed! Things are a whole lot different than they were this time last year! Michael and I have reflected a lot on the past year. It is amazing to see what God has done in Abby and Caroline's lives..and in ours! They entered the world at 2 lbs, 9 ounces and 2 lbs 14 ounces and needed the NICU for eight weeks. Now, they are over 19 lbs and so very happy and healthy! The day they were born was probably the hardest day of our lives...yet the absolute best day of our lives! The day our precious baby girls came into our world! We are so thankful for all that God has done for our family. Happy Birthday Caroline and Abby!!!
