Busy Baby Girls!

Caroline and Abby love to stay busy! They are learning new things every day! Abby has mastered grabbing her feet and bringing them to her mouth. Caroline rolls over and over and gets from one end of the room to the other! They both get on their hands and knees, rock, and spring forward to get what they want! It is hilarious to watch! They are sitting up almost all by themselves! It is just amazing how they are growing up so fast. They continue to have a smile for everyone they see! Baby food is very fun and they enjoy making a huge mess when they eat!
We had a busy week last week! They got to go to Gramma's with Aunt Courtney while their Mommy got her hair cut! We all went over to Payton and Krista's house to play on Wednesday. On Thursday, they took their first trip to Decatur to see Aunt Courtney's house. Gramma and I took them down there and we walked from Courtney's house to downtown Decatur for lunch. We met a really cute couple who are expecting their first grandchildren in December-twin boys! They were so sweet and held the girls while we ate our lunch! Abby and Caroline enjoyed smiling and talking to them! On Friday, we met Aunt Mindy and their cousins Mary Kate, Ella and Sophie at the mall. We had a lot of fun! Saturday, Daddy got to play with the girls all day while Mommy worked at Egleston. Gramma helped for a little while, but Daddy was amazing! He got them all dressed and ready and took them down to Tricia and Jimmy's for their son Luke's first birthday party! (Mommy met them there!) We had so much fun at Luke's party! He loved getting the icing all over his hands and in his ears! He was so cute!! It's hard to believe the girls will be turning one in just a little over four months! We are having so much fun! The girls still do not like to take naps! They are just so afraid they'll miss out on something fun!!! I put some new pictures in the photo gallery!

One Year Ago!

It was one year ago today that we found out that our "baby" was actually two babies! It was Catherine's first trip to the doctor and our first look at an ultrasound. Before we saw the ultrasound, the nurse made a joke about finding out how many babies we were going to have. When the picture came up on the screen the nurse's joking attitude quickly changed as she told us that we were "seriously" having twins. Catherine began to cry and I began laughing at the realization that our thoughts about having a baby needed to dramatically change. We told our parents that night over dinner and their reactions were priceless. If only we had that moment on tape! That is one of those days you will just never forget! All the excitement and emotions from that day are still fresh in my mind, even now that our precious babies are here with us.

The girls are doing great! Both of them are pushing up and rocking on their knees like they are going to start crawling. It is amazing to watch them play and listen to them talk and laugh. Everyday there are new experiences that make having twins even more fun. We are so thankful for our babies and the joy they bring us!

Happy 4th of July!

Well, the girls had a fun 4th of July! They got to go swimming for the first time in Nana and Papa's pool. We put on the sunscreen, bathing suits & hats and went swimming for about 10 minutes! The girls seemed to like it. I don't think they realized they were swimming, they just knew that they were being held and having fun!
Abby and Caroline are loving baby food! They love to eat bananas, oatmeal, rice cereal, sweet potatoes, carrots and squash! They do not like green beans! Abby is getting up on all fours and rocking. It won't be long until we have a crawler on our hands! They both like to pivot in circles on their tummies. This week we are working on taking regular naps in their own cribs!! That is a battle but is getting better every day. The girls have been held so much and are almost dependent on being held, riding in the car, or swinging to take naps! Every day it gets a little better. They are now taking at least one nap in their cribs every day! I think that scheduling is one of the hardest things. Once you figure out a schedule, the girls change it! We'll get there I know! Abby and Caroline are consistently sleeping until 6:30-7 every morning which is wonderful! They will be 7 months old tomorrow! Time is flying by!
