So Thankful!!

We are just so thankful for our baby girls! They are doing so well! We went to the NICU clinic yesterday for a check up. The neonatologist continues to follow them for the first year which is really awesome. He is so pleased with how they are doing and just had wonderful things to say about our babies. Caroline weighs 8lbs 4 ounces, Abby weighs 8 lbs 1 ounce. They are just getting so big right before our eyes! We no longer have to give Abby medicine..her jaundice is gone and her bilirubin levels are normal! We praise God for the little miracles He has given us!

We are also so thankful for our family and all the help and support they give us. Caroline and Abby's Aunt Courtney has been staying with us during the week and hanging out with me and the girls. It is just so wonderful to be able to hang out with my sister daily and to have 2 extra arms to hold, feed, burp and change a baby! Caroline and Abby love having her here! She has sacrificed sleep (getting up every 3 hours to feed the girls) so that Michael can get a good nights rest before work! She just started her new job at Egleston as a Child Life Specialist. She will be amazing with those children! She is so sweet to still come spend the night on the days she isn't working. I have the best sister in the world!!
With Aunt Courtney starting her new job, Gramma and Nana have been over to spend the night and help me out this week. I know I'll have to start caring for the twins by myself at some point...but I'm so thankful we've had so much help while they have been so little! We are so very blessed! It is also so encouraging to have everyone checking our blog and following our girls progress. It is so humbling to think of all the sweet people who have and continue to pray for our family. Time Flies

As you may have guessed, things are pretty busy around the Goforth household. We are having fun and the girls are doing great. They like to go on walks around the neighborhood. The girls are still being fed every three hours around the clock. Catherine nurses one baby and the other is bottle fed by Michael or Aunt Courtney or whoever else is here. The NICU doctors encouraged us to be more aggressive with them gaining weight, so we are supplementing the bottle with high calorie formula. It is working! Caroline now weighs 7 lbs. 6 oz. and Abby weighs 7 lbs. 2 oz. They each gained 1 lb. 2 oz. over a two week period since we began adding formula to their diet, the doctors were pretty impressed. They are already starting to out grow a lot of their premmie outfits and we are almost ready to step up from the newborn diaper size. It is so amazing to watch them grow and pass the small milestones along the way. The girls like to be held a lot so that leaves little time to do the simple things around the house, but we seem to squeeze them in. It's almost noon, so I better go get started.
