Last weekend!

The weekend started for us on Friday getting to drive to Banner Elk and spend the afternoon with dear friends Betsy, Ryan and their precious children. Abby & Caroline so enjoyed playing with their new friends! It was a gorgeous day and we only wish they lived closer so we could play more often!

Saturday, we drove to Atlanta for cousin Sophie's 3rd birthday party! It was fun to be with the family and John McCain even showed up for a little while! (the girls laughed hysterically and thought the John mask was so funny!)

Sunday, we drove to Athens for Lizzy and Trey's wedding. I have known Lizzy since Tom & Caroline brought her home from the hospital and now she is a beautiful bride! During the ceremony the girls both asked, "When are they going to dance?" They are all about some dancing!! We are thankful that God has brought Lizzy & Trey together. It was so fun to be with them on their wedding day! The girls have been playing "wedding girl" ever since!!

June Fun!!

We started June off with a quick trip to the coast. Michael had some work to do near Wilmington so the girls and I joined him in a fast trip east! We got to experience Carolina Beach and had a blast playing near the ocean. The ferry ride over to Southport was so much fun and we ate shrimp by the sea at the Provision Co. in Southport. An adorable little town! We didn't take any pictures, but we got to see our good friends the Williams' in Charleston who graciously let us spend the night with them....their sweet baby girl arrived right after we left!! The girls enjoyed playing with their son and it was great to see where they live, work and play!

Craggy Gardens was gorgeous again this year when the Catawba Rhododendrons were in bloom. We love hiking up there and spending time as a family in the great outdoors!
Abby and Caroline have had much fun in the baby pools in our yard when the sun is out, and playing in the rain when it is a little stormy!

We had a super fun Fiesta for Lindsey and Ronnie at Nana & Papa's house. It was a great party and we are all so excited about their wedding August 1st! The girls tried on their lovely flower girl dresses and are so excited about being a flower girl with all their cousins!

Camping trip!

Caroline and Abby took their first camping trip and loved it! I think their favorite thing was zipping and unzipping the tent! They enjoyed playing in the tent while Michael and I enjoyed sitting outside by the campfire in the cool mountain air! We camped at Mt Pisgah and it was a beautiful night. The weather was chilly...perfect for camping. The girls fell asleep after talking to us for quite awhile and we had an adventurous family trip to the bathroom around 3 am. Caroline was ready to "wake up" at this point, but after a little more talking, we all went back to sleep. Everyone woke up around 8:30 and Michael made a yummy camp breakfast and we came back home. All in all, a very fun and successful camping adventure!

Take me out to the ball game!!

A couple of Sundays ago, we took the twins to a Clemson baseball game. It was a lot of fun! We avoided thunderstorms and it was a beautiful day in Tigertown! The girls enjoyed climbing on the bleachers and dancing when the music played in between batters and innings. There was some excitement along the 3rd base line as left handed hitters fouled balls quite close to us. We had to pay attention to the game!!

Spring, Spring, Spring!!!

We are loving Spring in the mountains! The weather has been beautiful and it has been great to have some warm weather...it seems like it was a long winter! We've had so much fun already...picnicing on Bowman, several trips to Georgia, Windy Gap, Easter, Thursday nights at Pisgah, Nana & Papa visiting, Maga & Grandaddy visiting, and working in the yard! There are a bunch of new pictures in Photo Gallery II. Hope you are having a wonderful Spring!

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter weekend in Georgia. It was great to be with our family and our friends for a few days. We missed Aunt Courtney and Uncle Matthew in Boston! As well as Sonya, Cody & Kyleigh! The girls had a blast playing with their cousins all weekend! We enjoyed spending time with the Gadd family Saturday night and always love being with our best friends! It is so much fun to watch Abby & Caroline play with Payton & Claire. It was a beautiful Spring weekend in Georgia and the azaleas were gorgeous!

A trip to Mr. Don's farm...

We went to Mr. Don and Mrs. Kendra's farm at the beginning of April to visit and play with the animals. The girls were so cute and loved petting the horses, the dogs and the baby chicks. Caroline caught the baby chicks all by herself! We were so impressed! I had to coach her a little bit about holding them. Her grip continually got a little tighter! I was nervous several times about the well being of the baby chick my little Caroline was holding!

Family Camp!

We were so happy to get to spend an entire weekend at Windy Gap back in March for Family Camp with our YL area. It was such fun!! The girls had an absolute blast participating in YL club, playing at the beautiful Windy Gap (even in the rain!), riding horses, sleeping in bunk beds, and just being away with Mommy & Daddy and some great friends! Windy Gap is such a special place to me...it is where I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and I have wonderful memories here! We are blessed to live so close and to still be involved a little bit with what the Lord is doing through Young Life in Asheville. What a fun weekend to getaway!

My nose, please!

We have been very blessed not to be sick this winter season...except for the normal runny nose! It seems like every couple of minutes we hear, "My nose please, Mommy!" At least they say please! The girls have been having a lot of fun together. It is wonderful to have a twin sister that is your best friend in the whole world! They really love each other and it is so sweet to watch them interact. We've had a lot of snow & cold weather these past few months and are certainly ready for Spring!

Caroline and Abby talk all day long and come up with some of the funniest things! They remember absolutely everything and it is hilarious to listen to their stories. We have very expressive and animated little girls! They love listening to music and their favorite children's CD in our car has sparked a good deal of conversation. The funniest conversation happened on a trip to Atlanta. "Where is God?" they asked. I told them, "He is everywhere. He is always with us." They started cracking up when they thought about God being in the car with us! "Is He sitting in the front seat?" Another song sparked this thought..."Is God sad that He doesn't have a body?" No darling, He is not sad! I love teaching them about Jesus and love their questions! More pictures in Photo Gallery II!

SNOW days!!

Well, it snowed Tuesday night...about 2 inches so the girls were out of school Wednesday and Thursday. It has been sooo cold! We finally got out to play in it yesterday and today. The girls had a ton of fun. We built a Clemson Tiger Frosty to celebrate our huge win the other night against Duke! It is crazy living on the side of a mountain! We still have snow in our front yard while most of Asheville's snow has already melted. The wind blew like crazy and we have several patches of very deep snow from the wind blowing it into a pile. Caroline and Abby had fun falling in it, painting it with food coloring & water, and rolling snow balls! We've been a little stir crazy inside all week and are looking forward to a beautiful weekend with warmer weather!!
